Not at the moment, when we have something we will let you know. Something I cannot duplicate on my end. I too have a fresh v5 install and see no such bulging area.

I am still looking into the issue. Unfortunately I have yet to see anything resulting in what Johnny mentioned. I have tried numerous things and cannot duplicate it. Again, another one of these random mysteries that effects 2-3 people out of our entire customer base makes it extremely difficult to track down.

I would not say that just yet. I am still messing around with it and if I find something we will figure out what to do to correct it.

Just very hard when it is only a few people out of all who own the scenery. No different than MSP or DEN or any of the other scenery, just one or two people seem to have issues where as the rest seem to have none at all.

Just takes a little longer than normal.

We will figure it out.

@Johnny, is this still an issue? You have not been back to report anything in over a month. You are the only reported person with this Table Top looking thing since the release of v5. There are other reports of terrain issues but not like yours. I believe the others are ORBX based and will be easily fixed.

Please report back if you have this resolved.

Sammy,

I am having an identical issue as the OP, with the terrain abnormalities in the exact same spots as in the pictures. I do not have any ORBX products installed. The only other scenery I have installed is KPDX from FlightBeam. This is on P3Dv5 HF2. I have uninstalled and reinstalled the scenery, double checked the terrain settings, pretty much everything I could try. Any assistance would be appreciated.

This post has been quiet for a month, are there still issues being reported?

Re: Terrain issues P3D v5.2

Post by mswift1952 » Mon Jun 14, 2021 8:37 am

Hi Guys
I note from previous posts that Flightbeam have not been able to replicate this issue and it appears to be limited to just a few users?

With Prepar3D v5.2 and Flightbeam NZWN there are a number of truncated 'hills' appearing.

This does not happen using Prepar3D v4.5

Can you advise if this is a Prepar3D v5.2 or a Flightbeam NZWN issue?

I have a full size Boeing 737 cockpit using Prepar3D v4.5 and would at some point like to migrate to v5.2 but not with an issue like this.

Hope you can shed light on this.

Regards
Mike

We will report back if we find something. I can tell you that in 5.1 I have seen no such issue around Wellington. Being as though 5.2 did not go above and beyond when it comes to terrain, hard to imagine that it hiccup NZWN that much. I will look into it when I upgrade and report. As of right now I have not moved to 5.2 for just these types of reasons. 5.2 was just released and updating or upgrading immediately always finds some new issue, usually is because we have not or were never given an opportunity to test it with LM. So give me some time and when I move over to 5.2 I will report back.

Hi Sammy
Thank you for your reply.
Please note that I have two versions on my laptop which I use as a test bed before making decisions to migrate any software to my main cockpit simulator.
On the laptop I have gone from v4 through to 4.5 with no issues and this is the current sim migrated to my cockpit sim.
I have also had v5 on the laptop and noted at the beginning odd terrain behaviour at various airport locations.
At v5.1 I noted the flat topped truncated hills appearing around NZWN so did not migrate.
This issue has now appeared in v5.2 which is in effect a complete reinstall of the software to upgrade versions.
Also it requires a reinstall of Flightbeam NZWN so it can’t be said it’s a legacy effect?
Strange but v4.5 performs beautifully across my 3 main 55” 4K tv screens which I use for the visual display.
Just a pity I can’t use the latest 5.2 version update.
Again thank you for your help.
Regards
Mike

I will look into it, Mike.

We have a bunch of things moving forward at the moment so I cannot give an exact timeframe when I will get to it, but it is on my list of "TO DO" items.

Thank you for the report, and your patience.

Nothing at this time. When we find a solution or what the problem is whether it be ORBX or us we will be sure to post it.

Hm, thanks for the info.
At this time I'll think we will never get an update for this issue. ORBX will never provide any fix for an old product like NZNI, especially because it's for P3d only.
Hopefully Mir will have an look ,... or we are lost ;)

Are we at cross purposes with this issue.
My original post concerned Prepar3D v5 and the truncated terrain seen in Flightbeams addon scenery for Wellington airport NZWN it has nothing to do with Orbx.
The Flightbeam software is right up to date and current for Prepared v5.
I do not have any Orbx software installed.
Hopefully this provides some clarification.

We thank you all for your feedback. I will again state that Mir is one person. He does all of the work for his scenery on his own. We just finished a very long project with NZAA. He was 100% dedicated to that project which left no time for updates and patches to other products. Some of these products we wait until we have multiple fixes that need to be done before releasing a patch. So just because one thing is reported here, or another thing reported there doesn't mean it will get a patch immediately. There is a priority list for things to do, and NZWN is not our oldest product on the market.

Lastly, we cannot make scenery work with every single sim perfectly every time a new iteration of it is released or we will never make it to the future. Mir has constantly gave a full effort to updating products AS TIME PERMITS, but again, he is one man. The updates will definitely come when we get to them. Please be patient.
